END ICELANDIC BLOOD FARMS
Stop the repeated extraction of large volumes of blood from pregnant mares so their naturally occurring reproductive hormone can be sold for use in unnecessary livestock breeding. Mares are restrained and bled in excess. Exposed to stress, injuries, physiological strain and stress (blood loss during pregnancy, anemia risk, recovery demands)... while foals are treated as by-products.
In recent years, the disturbing trend of professional riders being exposed for horse abuse has escalated, revealing a deep-seated problem within the competitive equestrian community. We are calling for the removal of horses from the Olympic Games to protect these animals from further suffering at the hands of those who prioritize winning over welfare.
Wild horses in the American West are facing and intense crisis! With the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) conducting mass roundups to control populations they deem excessive, we argue that livestock, specifically cattle grazing, are the true cause of range degradation. Over 60,000 horses are currently in government holding facilities in need of help!
RSPCA reports more than 3,500 horses are tethered in the UK. These horses are denied the freedom to move naturally, socialise, or graze properly; they can be left standing in their own waste, exposed to extreme weather without shelter, constant car fumes and at risk of injury from entanglement or strangulation.Tethering restricts movement, leading to muscle deterioration, stress, frustration, and lasting physical and psychological harm. This practice is not traditional stewardship, it is neglect.
End the global horse racing industry, where thousands of horses are pushed beyond their physical limits and killed each year as a direct result of racing, training, and disposal practices. Horses are raced while still developing, medicated to mask pain, and forced to compete despite injuries. Exposed to extreme physical strain, catastrophic breakdowns, chronic stress, and exploitative breeding cycles.
Ban the Big Lick! Part of the Tennessee Walking Horse industry in the United States, where horses are deliberately subjected to painful practices to exaggerate their gait for competition. Horses are illegally “sored” through the use of caustic chemicals, pressure shoeing, stacks, and heavy chains, causing intense pain with every step. Exposed to chronic suffering, lameness, fear, and long-term physical damage (burns, scarring, nerve pain, and joint strain)...
